Brief Bio:
Chenchu Bathala, Ph.D., CFA, Professor of Finance at Nance College of Business Administration Cleveland State University, received his doctoral degree in finance from Texas Tech University during the year 1990. Dr. Bathala has an extensive record of teaching and scholarly activities. His research articles have been published in several journals which include Financial Management, Journal of Financial Research, Financial Review, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Managerial & Decision Economics, Research in Finance, Journal of Investing, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Commercial Banking & Finance, Advances in Financial Planning & Forecasting, International Journal of Social Economics, Financial Practice & Education, Journal of Small Business Finance, Journal of Entrepreneurial Finance & Business Ventures, and ICFAI Journal of Corporate Governance.  

As a Fulbright Scholar during the year 2004, Dr. Bathala taught at the University of National & World Economy, Sofia, Bulgaria. He received numerous other awards and recognitions throughout his academic career. Notable among them are: Outstanding Teacher Award at North Dakota State University; Merit Recognition Awards from Cleveland State University; Superior Faculty Advisor Award from Financial Management Association International; Best Paper Award at a Conference in Finance & Accounting, Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, India; Who's Who in Business Higher Education; Whos Who 21st Century Award for Achievement from International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England; and Marquis Whos-Who in Finance and Industry.

Dr. Bathala served as a Faculty Advisor to the FMA International Student Chapter at CSU. Currently, he is the course instructor for the Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF) at CSU.  Dr. Bathala is a member of several professional organizations, including the CFA Institute, CFA Society of Cleveland, Financial Management Association International, and Southwestern Finance Association. He serves on the editorial review boards of the Journal of Business Research, Afro-Asian Journal of Finance & Accounting, and International Journal of Social Entrepreunorship. He is also serving as a board member of the Southwestern Finance Association. Dr. Bathala also has been providing significant service to the investments profession through his membership in CFA Institute and CFA Society of Cleveland.

Key Foundation's grant of $150,000 for establishing Student Managed Investment Fund (SMIF), 2007.

Superior Faculty Advisor Award, FMA Student Chapter, CSU, received the award three years in a row -- 2003-04, 2004-05, and 2005-06.

Houston Society of Financial Analysts Award - 1984: First Place Award for the paper  titled, "Fundamental Analysis of Anderson Clayton & Co." which Dr. Bathala wrote as a graduate student at Texas Tech University. The paper was judged as the best from among the papers submitted by graduate students from various universities.
