| Brief Bio: |
| Professor Gaffney is a native of Milwaukee, WI where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (cum laude) from Marquette University. He subsequently earned a Master of Accounting Science degree and a Ph.D. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. Professor Gaffney holds Wisconsin and Illinois CPA certificates and maintains a current license to practice as a CPA in Wisconsin. He has served as an expert accounting witness in more than 20 large federal income tax cases and he has co-authored more than 50 papers that have appeared in leading tax journals. Professor Gaffney frequently speaks at professional meetings and he has conducted continuing education courses for the American Institute of CPAs, Arthur Andersen & Company, PricewaterhouseCoopers, McGladrey & Pullen, and a number of state CPA societies. Professor Gaffney's previous academic affiliations include Northern Illinois University, Michigan State University, the University of Illinois, the University of Toledo, and LeMoyne College. |
