| Brief Bio: |
| Joined the CSU Faculty in 1987 after 14 years at the University of Houston and 3 years at Virginia Commonwealth University. Served from 1987-1994 as chair of the Department of Modern Languages. Received B.A. in English from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia; the M.A. in English from the University of Virginia, and the Dr. Phil. in German from the Friedrich Alexander Universität in Erlangen, Germany.
Edward Haymes has a number of research interests that radiate from his primary interest in Middle High German Heroic epic. He has published a book on the Nibelungenlied (which was heavily revised and republished in Germany). He is currently working on questions of the oral theory as applicable to medieval Germanic literature. A major secondary are has been Old Norse literature. Finally his interest in music has led to a number of publications on Richard Wagner. |
