Research Keywords:
algebraic geometry, toric varieties, lattice polytopes, sparse polynomials, residues, coding theory

Education:
Ph.D., Mathematics, University of Toronto, 2002
M.S., Mathematics, Moscow State University, 1996

Brief Bio:
I received my M.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics from Moscow State University and my Ph.D. from the University of Toronto under the direction of Askold Khovanskii. Before coming to CSU, I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

Honors and Awards:
The Malcolm S. Robertson Award for excellence in research, University of Toronto, 2002

Research Interests:
My research area is combinatorial and computational algebraic geometry. I have been working on algorithms for solving polynomial systems that employ additional "discrete" structures of polynomials. I am also interested in coding theory, combinatorics and geometry of convex polyhedra, toric varieties, and residue theory.
