Brief Bio:
Dr. Julia Phillips is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of Training for the APA-accredited doctoral specialization in Counseling Psychology.  She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The Ohio State University in 1992 after completing her internship at Michigan State University Counseling Center. She is licensed as a psychologist in the State of Ohio and worked in university counseling centers prior to joining the faculty at Cleveland State University.  In her previous position, she was the training director of an APA-accredited psychology internship at The University of Akron Counseling Center for over 10 years.  She was also an Ad hoc Faculty Member in the Department of Psychology.  She is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and active in leadership activities with Division 17, the Society of Counseling Psychology.

Dr. Phillips has scholarly interests in professional issues in psychology, clinical supervision and training, research productivity of psychologists and psychology trainees, leadership training in professional organizations, college student development, and diversity issues with a focus on gender and sexual minorities.
