| Brief Bio: |
| Dr. Stahlman is an Associate Professor of Special Education in the Department of Teacher Education where she has worked in personnel preparation for over 20 years. She has designed Special Education majors at CSU and has worked to modify offerings in order to keep the programs and courses up-to-date. Over the past 7 years she has worked in both the areas of teacher induction as well as highly qualified teacher (HQT) status. She ran a four-year teacher induction pilot with Dr. Kristien Marquez-Zenkov, MUST Director, for urban, first, second, and third year special and general education teachers who graduated from CSU. She has also conducted local and national research on the support needs of second and third year urban teachers. Her current area of research focuses on the development of highly qualified special education teachers for both the elementary and secondary grade levels. Dr. Stahlmans primary areas of interest in special education are working with students who have moderate or intensive needs, and working in early childhood special education. |
