Brief Bio:
Marian Bleeke joined the faculty at CSU in August 2007, before which she taught at the State University of New York at Fredonia, Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Beloit College, and Columbia College Chicago. A specialist in the art of the Middle Ages she teaches Introduction to Early Western Art along with courses in Medieval and Islamic art, Women in Art,and Art History Theory and Methods. Her research focuses on Romanesque and Gothic sculpture, on issues involving women, gender, and the body in Medieval art, and on theories of reception and response.
