| Brief Bio: |
| Mark S. Rosentraub is a professor of urban affairs at the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs of Cleveland State University and served as dean from 2001 through 2007. Dr. Rosentraub was professor of public affairs and associate dean of the School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University at Indianapolis. He served as associate dean from July 1989 through December 2000. Dr. Rosentraub also founded Indiana University's Center for Urban Policy and the Environment and served as its director from 1992 to 1998.
During his career, Dr. Rosentraub has been principal investigator for more than $11 million in contract research for numerous governments and private organizations. Dr. Rosentraub has been a visiting scholar at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the University of Alberta, the Freie Universitat in Berlin (Germany), Humboldt Universitat (Berlin, Germany), and at Amerika Haus in Germany. His honors include the best article of the year award from the American Review of Public Administration (2000), the Bynum Mentor Award for Mentorship from Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis (1994), and teaching awards from Indiana University in 1993, 1995, and 1998. In 2003, Dr. Rosentraub was appointed commissioner for the Gateway Redevelopment Corporation, the agency responsible for Jacobs Field and Gund Arena in Cleveland.
His research focuses on the economics and politics of sports, economic development, public finance, and local governance. His research has been published in numerous journals and collections including Public Administration Review, the American Review of Public Administration, Public Finance and Budgeting, the Journal of the American Planning Association, the Journal of Urban Affairs, Urban Affairs Review, and Tourism Management, among others. |

| Research Interests: |
| Professor Rosentraub's research interests focus on urban tourism and the economic and intangible value of sports, the arts, and other amenities for urban centers; the financing plans for civic assets including sports facilities and the arts; the financing, organization, and delivery of urban services; and economic development issues. His work has included studies of urban change and growth, public-private partnerships, economic development strategies, and the relationship between sports, the arts, tourism, and economic development. |
