Brief Bio: |
| My primary purpose in obtaining a doctorate degree was to become an educator, yes not a millionaire. I have loved teaching since I can remember and I care deeply for my students. Watching a student have a "light bulb moment" is what I live for. Given that I have worked with students varying in both age and aptitude, I am very aware of whom my student are in terms of personality, motivations, skill sets and capabilities and I try to offer them a "personalized" educational experience.
I believe in being accessible both in and out of the classroom. The EMPORIUM has become a place where students feel safe coming to talk and ask for help even beyond the classroom or semester. I readily give out my cell phone number as needed. I love helping my students see the "real life" connections to what they are learning. Many of my students would tell you that I am demanding and have high expectations, but they will also say that they know it comes from a place of caring. |
