| Brief Bio: |
| Sung-Gheel Jang is an Assistant Professor of Urban Studies in the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urbana Affairs at Cleveland State University. He received his Ph.D. in Regional Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and both his Master of City Planning and a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Seoul National University in South Korea. Prior to joining the Levin College faculty, he worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he was a research associate with the Regional Economics Applications Laboratory and the Expert Planning Information Systems Laboratory. |

| Research Interests: |
| Most current research interests encompass the following: 1) looking into the implication of demographic changes (esp., graying population) to urban sustainability including urban health implications by employing varied methods and techniques in geographic information systems/science; 2) developing an operational model for planning support systems which enables semantic interchange in the processes of planning and/or policy-making in urban places and regions; and to demonstrate its application; and 3) examining methods for the use of Cyberinfrastructure in simulating interactions among varied actors of urban systems; and to develop the applications |
