Brief Bio: 
 Sally Shao received her B.S. degree from the Department of Mathematics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, M.A. degree (Mathematics) and Ph.D. degree (Applied Mathematics) from University of California at Davis under the supervision of Professor Frederick A. Howes.
She was a Visiting Assistant Professor (19891991) at the Department of Mathematics, University of Southern California before she came to the CSU as an Assistant Professor in 1991. She became an Associate Professor in 1995 and is currently a Professor of Mathematics (2004present).
She had held various visiting positions during different periods of time at IUPUI, HKUST, ITD of UC Davis, National Sun Yatsen University of Taiwan, HK Poly U and CUHK.

 Applied Mathematics:
(1) Differential Equationsmainly in Asymptotic Analysis, Singular Perturbation Theory and Applications, AsymptoticNumerical Domain Decomposition Methods.
(2) Mathematical Fluid Dynamicsmainly in Supersonic Flow, Shock Structure, Boundary Layer Theory.
(3) Stochastic Approximation Algorithms and Dynamics of Recurrent Neural Networks
(4) Mathematical Finance  mainly in Diffusion Models for Risk Reserves
