Brief Bio:
Dr. Yang received her doctorate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, 2006.  Her Ph.D. dissertation topic is Integrated Emergency Response Vehicle Fleet Management. She obtained her BS degree in Bridge Engineering and MS degree in Transportation Engineering from Southeast University, China, in 1997 and 2000, respectively.
Dr. Yang worked in the Office of Safety R&D, Federal Highway Administration during 2000-2002 as a graduate research assistant. She was a research assistant at the University of Maryland, College Park during 2003-2006. The projects she worked on spanned the disciplines of Operations Research, Traffic Engineering, Highway Safety and ITS applications. She teaches Traffic Flow Theory and other transportation courses. In addition to working with students, she is focusing on the research of work zone safety and sustainable transportation system.
