| Brief Bio: |
| Yung-I Liu joined the faculty of School of Communication at Cleveland State University in August 2008. Her research interests focus on the geospatial dimension of strategic communication in political campaigns; ethnic and cultural differences in advertising; and political communication.
Dr Liu's recent research examines the effects of communication context on political cognition in presidential campaigns; the effects of ethnic and cultural identities in advertising; and the relationships between media content/modalities and political knowledge. The theoretical perspectives in her research include models of political communication, contextual theories, social psychology, and cross-cultural consumer psychology. In addition to geospatial mapping and analysis, her work also examines media's conditional effects on civic engagement. The goal of her research is to understand the communication processes that produce the effects, and also to generate practical knowledge to achieve effective communication.
Dr. Liu teaches courses in advertising, public relations, communication campaigns, and persuasive communication. |
