Brief Bio:
Prior to entering academia, Dr. Wheeler experienced a varied and wide range of nursing executive responsibilities in the public and private sectors.  She has assumed leadership roles in acute care and out-patient settings and international health care programs.  Her areas of interest include health policy, health systems, vulnerable families, and teaching innovations in nursing education.

Dr. Wheeler's expertise is in designing and conducting a variety of qualitative and exploratory research methods.  She uses qualitative and mixed method research approaches to examine nursing education pedagogies, community health issues and vulnerable populations.  She is particularly committed to applied health policy research.
