Brief Bio:
DeAndra M. Stone is an alumna of Cleveland State University (CSU) having graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (2014), Bachelor of Science (2014), and Master of Science (2016) while completing her studies as a dance minor. Following graduation, DeAndra began to apply her dance knowledge as a Dance Movement Instructor at Coventry Children's Center (Cleveland Heights, OH); dance instructor substitute at Hathaway Brown School (Shaker Heights, OH); dance instructor at Mayne Attraction Studios (Cleveland Heights, OH) and performing with Marquez Dance Project (TriDEA, Station Hope, Cleveland Public Theatre- Dance Works).

Her dance background began through her early studies at Lakeshore Dance and Gymnastics and later strengthened as a member of CSU¿s Modern Dance Company, performing works by Doug Gillespie (Kate Weare), Dianne McIntyre, and Dance Theatre Collective (2010-2014). DeAndra believes that connection propels her dancing- whether connecting with others on the stage, audience members, or connecting her interpersonal being with the external world. This has been a prominent factor in various projects including: leading CSU dance majors in their senior capstone projects; guiding dance majors in their undergraduate summer research on Dance in the Community, which included dance experiences through the Dance for PD model, while implementing dance sessions at Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Center (Beachwood, OH); as Assistant to the Director of Dance at CSU; and as assistant dance instructor for her church's praise dance ministry (Olivet Institutional Baptist Church, Cleveland, OH).

While simultaneously employed as part-time dance faculty at CSU, DeAndra focused on administration through Olivet Institutional Baptist Church for nearly 10 years, before promoting to the Interim Executive Assistant to the Pastor. Intrigued with becoming a diversified educator, DeAndra began volunteering, tutoring, and working with students in grades K-12, including students receiving special education services, within Cleveland Metropolitan School District. DeAndra is proud to serve as the Interim Director of Dance/Visiting College Lecturer at CSU realizing that each of these encounters substantially provided immense administrative skills, opportunities to work with a diverse group of students and people, and engagement in meaningful dance experiences.
