Brief Bio:
Dr. Mustafa Usta earned his bachelor's degree from Yildiz Technical University (Turkiye) in 2012, and master's and Ph.D. degrees from Lehigh University in 2016 and 2018 respectively, all in mechanical engineering. He was previously a Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Faculty in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

His research has utilized high-fidelity computations, scientific machine learning, and experiments to unravel complex flow dynamics in membrane-based desalination modules, turbulent mixing of chemical species, thrombosis, and high-density aqueous foams. His current research focuses on developing a basic and applied understanding of the problems at the interface of fluid dynamics, thermal sciences, biology, and chemistry by means of computations, scientific machine learning/transfer learning, graph theory, and experiments. His research efforts can potentially lead to advances in health, energy, and environment.
