Brief Bio:
Dr. Rachel Wlodarsky is a faculty member in CASAL with a specialization in Adult Learning and Development. Dr. Wlodarsky received her Ph.D. from Cleveland State University in 2002. She spent the first 15 years of her career as a faculty member at Ashland University before joining CSU as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Fall 2016, transitioning to a tenure track position in the Fall 2017.  Dr. Wlodarsky studies the cognitive and socioemotional processes linked to adult learning, authentic reflection on experience, faculty development and mentoring.  She also serves on editorial boards for several adult learning and adult education journals.

She has published a book, several book chapters, and numerous peer-reviewed articles on the topic of reflection and professional development within the context of higher education.  Dr. Wlodarsky has recently joined forces with a group of faculty and administrators who are spearheading a project to integrate formal mentoring language and programs into policies and procedures at CSU.  This initiative has the potential to influence faculty development programs, and formal/informal mentoring for faculty members within higher education in scholarly and practical ways. In addition to her research, she is also extremely active in professional organizations, having held officer positions for the Commission of Professors of Adult Education, Ohio Association of Teacher Educators, and Ohio Confederation of Teacher Education Organizations.
