Brief Bio:
Dr. Martínez Abeijón studied History of Art for two years at Universidad de Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain. In 1999, he graduated from Universidad de Valladolid with a degree in the History and Science of Music. In the United States, he completed a Master of Arts (2001) and a Ph.D. (2008) in Spanish at The Ohio State University. He worked at Southern Utah University between 2005 and 2012. He is currently an Associate Professor of Spanish at the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures in Cleveland State University.
 
Research Interests:
His research interests include novel and film in Spain since 1989, cinema from Colombia, teaching Spanish as a second language, Galician culture, and national identities, literature, and film in both Spain and Latin America, among others.
