Brief Bio:
Dr. Eddie T. C. Lam is a Professor and the Coordinator of Graduate Sport & Entertainment Management Program at Cleveland State University. He is also an Adjunct Faculty of the University of Houston. Dr. Lam has a B.P.E. in Physical Education and a M.S. in Sport Management and Sport Psychology from Springfield College, Massachusetts; and a Ph.D. from the University of Houston with an emphasis on Measurement and Research. Dr. Lam is a research fellow and a top-10 presenter of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science journal from 2009 to 2015. He also serves on the editorial board or as a reviewer of more than 30 journals, such as the Economic Research, European Sport Management Quarterly, Biology of Sport, Journal of Applied Marketing Theory, Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism Education, Journal of Sport Science and Medicine, Sport Management Education Journal, Research Quarterly for Exercise and Sport, Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, Sport Management Review, International Journal of Sport Management and Marketing, Journal of Physical Activity and Health, Leisure Studies, World Journal of Pediatrics, Journal of American College Health, Future Focus, and the Sport Management Program Review Council.

Dr. Lam is interested in the applied studies of service quality, customer satisfaction, scale development, and sport marketing as well as the applied measurement in sport psychology and exercise science. Specifically, Dr. Lam has conducted numerous marketing studies with professional teams, including the Cleveland Cavaliers (NBA) and Gladiators (AFL) as well as the Houston Rockets (NBA), Comets (WNBA), and Houston Aeros (AHL) as well as numerous health-fitness clubs and YMCAs (e.g., Memorial Athletic Club, River Oaks Racquet & Fitness Club, Kingwood Athletic Club, The Fitness Center at South Shore Harbour, Woodlands Athletic Club, Lake Houston YMCA, Middlebury Heights Community Center, West Park Family YMCA, Lake County YMCA, Hillcrest Family YMCA, Southeast Family YMCA, and so on). He has made 150+ research presentations at international, national and state levels, and has published extensively in such journals as Acta Medica Bulgarica, Advances in Physiology Education, American Journal of Health Studies, Education, Education and Science, International Journal of Sport Management, International Journal of Sport Marketing & Sponsorship, International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning, International Journal of Volunteer Administration, International Journal for the Advancement of Counselling, International Sports Journal, Journal of Allied Health, Journal of Applied Marketing Theory, Journal of Back and Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation, Journal of Exercise Science & Fitness, Journal of Physical Education and Sports Management, Journal of Power, Politics & Governance, Journal of Sports Sciences, Lung, Measurement in Physical Education & Exercise Science, Obesity Surgery, School Psychology International, Sport Management Review, Sport Marketing Quarterly, The Physician and Sportsmedicine, and WORK: A Journal of Prevention, Assessment, and Rehabilitation. In 2018, Dr. Lam received the Midwest District Scholar Award from the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE) America, USA and the Best Abstract Award from the Global Conference on Sport for Social Change, Athens, GA, USA.

Dr. Lam loves sports, such as tennis (also an instructor of tennis at CSU), team handball (team captain), badminton and basketball (university instructor).  He was a top-10 track and field pentathlon athlete in his college (champion of discus, and record-holder of 110-meter hurdles), and an international volleyball referee.
