Brief Bio:
Carol L. Spears, MA, CCC-SLP, is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Speech and Hearing Program at Cleveland State University.  Ms. Spears has over 30 years of clinical experience in the area of communication disorders. She has provided services in the multiple capacities of instructor, supervisor, consultant, and therapist.  Ms. Spears specializes in the areas of Assistive Technology, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), and Autism.  She possesses the knowledge and experience in the use of strategies that have been proven effective to address the unique communication needs of individuals who are diagnosed with autism, are nonverbal, and present with significant developmental disabilities.  Mrs. Spears is the co-author of the book, Rising to New Heights of Communication and Learning for Children with Autism.
