Brief Bio:
Jessica Nobile received her social work Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in 2017. She obtained her MSW from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009 and has been a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Pennsylvania since 2012; she conjointly has her LCSW in the state of Georgia and her LISW in Ohio.  Dr. Nobile has seven years of post MSW experience as a therapist and psychiatric in-patient social worker. Her teaching interests include social work practice and creative intervention strategies. Dr. Nobile has conducted preliminary research on social work education and race relations. Her dissertation, "Young African American Women in a College Town: Stories of Strength" focused on how institutional and environmental risk factors, such as racism, impact higher educational aspiration for young African American women.  Findings that emerged from her dissertation research concluded that this population faces a multitude of risk factors; however, these young women presented as highly resilient since all participants expressed a desire to pursue higher education.  Dr. Nobile intends to continue research related to the promotion of social justice, economic equality, and positive educational outcomes for youth of color as an assistant professor at Cleveland State University.
