Brief Bio:
Dr. Owusu-Danquah is an assistant professor at Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at CSU. Josiah received his PhD and Masters in Civil Engineering from The University of Akron, Ohio in 2017, and Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2013, respectively. His research focuses on computational mechanics, material modeling, testing and finite element simulation of stimulus-responsive materials and devices. Dr. Owusu-Danquah also studies the application of non-conventional adaptable materials in the design of civil engineering structures. He has worked on simulation of shape memory micro actuators, biomedical self-expanding  stents and nitinol bone staples over the past years. Josiah has taught many basic and advanced engineering classes like statics, strength of materials, dynamics, computer methods, and advanced reinforced concrete.
