Brief Bio:
Prior to his doctoral pursuit, Dr. Ru had multiple years of industry experience that ranges from manufacturing to marketing to consulting in the automotive industry. As a result, his research was motivated either by the issues he had encountered at work or by the observations he has learned from the practice. One part of his research focuses on the optimal inventory decisions a company should make when dealing with uncertain demand, using stochastic optimization. Another area explores how firms in a supply chain should interact with each other in different business scenarios, using game theory and econometrics. This involves examining various types of contracts, the effects of bargaining power, and the dynamics when considering store brands.
