Brief Bio:
L. Claire Campbell LPCC-S, ATR is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the graduate counselor education program and Director of the Counseling & Academic Success Clinic (CASC) at Cleveland State University. Claire is an artist, a registered art therapist and licensed professional clinical counselor with a supervisory designation. Claire¿s clinical orientation as a practitioner, relies on relationship, language, art therapy, and mindfulness practices to guide her clinical counseling practice, supervision, teaching and research. Claire led and developed the opening of CASC at CSU in 2015 and has overseen the general operations and management of delivering free counseling support to hundreds of students at CSU, as well as providing clinical training for counseling interns completing their clinical internship rotations on an annual basis. Claire has presented workshops locally and nationally on trauma informed care, empathetic distress, and the use of art therapy in treatment, supervision and wellness practices spanning the past 24 years. Claire advocates and is interested in research addressing holistic approaches to clinical counseling and art therapy and creating sustainable wellness practices for clients, clinicians, colleagues, organizations and students alike. Claire also served as a faculty member at The Omega Institute, one of the oldest and most prestigious retreat & wellness centers in the country.
