Brief Bio:
Dr. Khan obtained his Ph.D. in Biostatistics (Big Data Track) from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in Statistics from Bangladesh and a second master's in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Florida Atlantic University. He started his career as a researcher and later worked for over 8 years as full-time faculty in three universities in Bangladesh. His broad research interest includes developing statistical methods and applications with a particular emphasis on health-related fields. Specific areas include biostatistics and public health, repeated measures and longitudinal analysis, linear and nonlinear mixed-effects modeling, Bayesian analysis, categorical data analysis, data science and machine learning, and substance abuse and health.
 
Honors and Awards:
1. Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology (DBE) Travel Award for FY 2022, Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Cincinnati, OH, USA. Award Amount: $1500.
2. Thesis and Dissertation Scholarship (Summer 2019), Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Florida, USA. Amount: $500.  
3. Travel Grant (2017), Bangladesh-Sweden Trust Fund, Economic Relations Division (ERD), Government of Bangladesh.
4. In collaboration with Dr. Md. Mijanur Rahman, awarded a sub-project of BDT8.0 million (USD 100,000) titled "Improvement of Teaching and Learning environment in the Department of Statistics through Technological Support" for the development of the department under Higher Education and Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) undertaken by the Ministry of Education, People¿s Republic of Bangladesh and financed by World Bank. The sub-project was awarded on April 01, 2012, and successfully completed within two years tenure.      
5. Merit Scholarship 2005 on the basis of MS Result.
6. Merit Scholarships 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 based on B. Sc Honors Results.
