Brief Bio:
Dr. Srinivas Allena joined Cleveland State University in August 2019. His main goal over the coming years is to establish a multi-disciplinary, collaborative research program in the field of sustainable and resilient infrastructure materials to address infrastructure challenges in the built environment. Dr. Allena received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from New Mexico State University and he earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Andhra University, India and M.S in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering from Gujarat University, India.

Dr. Allena's main research interests are in the development of innovative structural materials including ultra-high performance concrete and engineered cementitious composites, performance-based design of advanced concrete materials, repair and rehabilitation of transportation infrastructure, concrete durability and shrinkage, concrete sustainability, and smart sensors for structural health monitoring.
Dr. Allena is an active member on several technical committees, including ACI (American Concrete Institute) 239 (ultra high performance concrete), 544 (fiber reinforced concrete), TRB (transportation Research Board) AFN 30 (Durability of Concrete). He serves as the reviewer for several technical journals including the ASCE Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, ACI Materials Journal, Journal of Building and Construction Materials, ASTM Journal of Advances in Civil Engineering Materials, and the Transportation Research Record. Dr. Allena also serves as the proposal reviewer for National Science Foundation, Oak Ridge Associated Universities, and the Qatar National Research Fund.
