Brief Bio:
Dr. Shaowei Yang received his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from University of Cincinnati in 2016. Before joining CSU, he was a research scientist in Georgia Institute of Technology for five years.

Dr. Yang¿s main research interest is developing microporous materials and membranes for energy and environment related applications. The goal is to develop energy-efficient separation technologies, i.e. membrane or adsorption-based separations, to reduce the carbon footprint for industrial chemical separation processes. The research involves materials science, fundamental thermodynamics, and transport phenomena studies. He is teaching Advanced Transport Phenomena and Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics courses.

Dr. Yang has published over 20 journal articles in reputed journals, such as Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Science Advances, and Journal of Membrane Science. He has one approved and two pending US patent applications.
