Brief Bio:
Yuchen Liu received her Ph.D. in 2021 from the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. Yuchen's overall research interests pertain to social media uses and effects in the areas of strategic communication, public relations, and international communication. Yuchen has taught Principles of Public Relations, Principles of Advertising, Principles of Social Media, Message Development (a multimedia writing course for strategic communication), Research Methods in Strategic Communication, and Communication Campaigns. 

Yuchen's research and teaching are influenced by her professional experience in journalism and strategic communication. Prior to her Ph.D. studies, Yuchen worked as the Web/Social Media Producer for Channel 6 News. She was responsible for maintaining a highly-marketable website and various social media platforms for the local cable news organization. During her time working at Channel 6, she also assisted with writing, editing, and producing creative newscasts, as well as organizing special event coverage.
