Although the science of existential psychology had been taking shape since the 1980s, and was growing, the field was not organized and no supports were in place to help advance and communicate the science. So, in 2019, I co-founded the International Society for the Science of Existential Psychology (ISSEP). I worked with attorney to prepare and file all of ISSEPs governance and administrative documentation, such that ISSEP is a business corporation registered in the State of Ohio, with federal IRS approval as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt public educational charity. I developed ISSEPs corporate Code of Regulations, which established a 17-member Board of Directors, Officers, and Committees focused on advancing ISSEPs mission: To support and encourage the research, communication, and application of the science of existential psychology.
