Metz Site analyses of Area 3 (year 3) feature fill contents excavated during the 2010 summer and fall field season. All feature fill contents were screened, washed, and dried prior to analysis. The primary goal was to sort and recover charcoal samples for radiocarbon dating and to identify and classify charred botanical remains (maize, squash, hickory nut remains, etc.). Labs were held in Wakeman, Ohio under the direction of George DeMuth (president of the ASO-SBC) on Mondays and Saturdays from Oct. 15 to Dec. 23, 2010.
