A delegate in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) serves as a voting representative in the House of Delegates (HOD), the association's principal policy-making body. They determine national, professional policies, bylaws, and positions, and elect national leaders. This work is done by participating in monthly meetings, an 8hr delegate retreat and attending the 3 day HOD.
