In spring 2022, I served as an external reviewer for the promotion of Dr. Amir Lerner, who teaches at Tel-Aviv University, to the rank of Associate Professor. His scholarly area of expertise includes early Islamic history and literature. I was invited by Dr. Naser Basal, the chair of the peer review committee.
