I was interviewed by Revista de estudios jurídico Cálamo for its January 2025 issue, “The City and the Law.” Cálamo is an academic journal, published biannually and edited by the Law School of Universidad de las Americas, which is based in Quito, Ecuador. The interview was conducted by Álvaro Orbea, a Quito-based attorney and urban law specialist, and focused on the topic of “Urban Legal Education: Bridging Theory, Practice, and Place.” The interview explored the value of place-based pedagogy for students of cities, with an emphasis on introducing students to legal and policy concepts and tools. This topic directly relates to my work as a practitioner-educator and to CSU/Levin's core mission.
