I was invited to work with a group of OTs to promote justice-based OT services. We are working on a national position statement and will be working as a task-group to complete a strategic plan. This coincides with other work that I am doing at the Northeast Ohio Reintegration Center in Cleveland. I have been providing consultation to the mental health services there and working to develop an OT program at the facility in the next 1-2 years. The "sensory cell" that I developed and shared with the mental health staff has been shared across Ohio and at the facility in Cleveland has been a big success.
