Rough Side of the Mountain is a graphic novel designed to educate cultural competency skills in health practitioners and undergraduate student service learners working with at-risk youth. It is composed of written work by at-risk students and CSU undergraduate service learners participating in language arts activities. It also gives evidence to the community collaboration involved in the Let It Ride Program and the range of this project's support. These agencies include: ADAMHA (Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services) Board of Cuyahoga County, U.S. Army, The Beck Center for the Arts, the Ohio Division of Wildlife, the North Coast Black Bass Anglers Association, the Cleveland Sport, Travel & Outdoor Show, Cuyahoga Community College and Youth Outdoors, as well as Cleveland State University and Cleveland Treatment Center.
