I was elected through a general election of AERC members to serve a two year term on the steering committee. The scope of our activities include blind-peer reviewing proposals for the upcoming conference in Summers 2017/2018 and all activities associated with planning the AERC conference, which was held June 8-11, 2017 at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. We also planned and facilitated the AERC Conference held at the University of Victoria, Victoria, BC, June 7-9, 2018. We met every few weeks via digital meeting spaces, but time was also required to review and rank proposals, coordinate conference planning with the host institution, communicate with selected presenters, and plan the conference agenda. In all, I spend at least two hours a week on this activity.
