Biography

Adam Voight is an associate professor in the School of Education and Counseling and the director of the Center for Urban Education (CUE) in the Levin College of Public Affairs and Education at Cleveland State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Community Research and Action from the Department of Human and Organizational Development at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development.

Dr. Voight’s research and teaching center on how schools and communities can foster safe, supportive, and equitable environments that promote positive developmental and educational outcomes for young people. He is particularly interested in how youth voice, educator collaboration, and systemic change efforts can advance educational excellence and equity.

He is a co-founder and executive committee member of the Cleveland Alliance for Education Research (CAER), a long-standing research-practice partnership among CUE, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, and the American Institutes for Research. Through CAER and other projects, Dr. Voight collaborates with practitioners and policymakers to conduct applied research aimed at improving opportunities and outcomes for K–12 students. His work has been supported by organizations such as the U.S. Department of Education, the Spencer Foundation, and the William T. Grant Foundation.
