Biography

Hello. My name is Heather Bort MSN, RNC-MNN. I am a full time faculty member in the College of Health for the School of Nursing Dept. I have been with CSU for 14 yrs and counting. I worked at Metrohealth Hospital for 24 years as a PRN RN in postpartum, NICU, PICU, and Peds. I recently resigned at Metrohealth to further my education. I am certificed in Maternal Newborn and hold a multi state license. 

I have taught primarily all areas of OB for CSU, including online accelerated, traditional, and accelerated tracks. I teach didactic, clinicals, simulations, residency, and the course coordinator. I have also taught Computer Literacy, Health Assessment Lab, Capstone, and helped out with check offs in the lab. My passion is OB and I want to further my career in women's health with a focus on menopause. 

Outside of CSU I enjoy time with my family and friends. I love the outdoors. I enjoy golfing, bike riding, walking (up to 6 miles and counting), hiking, and animals. Music is theropy for the sole and I enjoy the theature. I go to and participate in several charity events throughout the year ranging from breast cancer research, CF research, and money raised to help families pay for childrens funerals.
