Personal profile

Research interests

I am a nano scientist and a surface scientist. I am interested in self-assembly and how the surface can drive self-assembly of small molecules that are deposited. I am further interested in how properties of materials (electronic, magnetic, transmissive) change due to the impacts of both size and bonding/interfaces. As a teacher/researcher I am also dedicated to utilizing scientifically validated teaching methods in my classroom and contributing to the growing body of physics education research in peer-instruction.

Teaching interests

semi-flipped classroom; teaching students how to learn; introductory and upper division physics;
