Research interests

My research agenda focuses on the relationship between theatrical activity and communal identity. How theatre supports and preserves oppressed communities has been central to my work. Communities investigated include: Partitioned Poland, Ireland under English Rule, Jewish Holocaust Survivors, American Women, Canadian First Nations, Cleveland, African Americans in Cleveland.
