Biography
Trevor Marcho is a College Lecturer in Music Education and Interim Music Education Coordinator at Cleveland State University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in instrumental music education, supervises student teachers, and coordinates the music education program. He brings extensive experience as a conductor and educator, having conducted ensembles such as the Cleveland State University Wind Ensemble, the University of Maine Symphonic Band, The Ohio State University Collegiate Winds, the Bangor Band, and the Bangor Symphony Youth Orchestras. Dr. Marcho has taught at all levels of public education, most recently as the Director of Bands in the Mount Vernon City Schools, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he taught high school band, jazz band, and marching band, and he co-taught middle school band.
With a background spanning public school teaching, collegiate instruction, and community music-making, Dr. Marcho is dedicated to preparing the next generation of music educators through research-based pedagogy, practical musicianship, and a commitment to fostering inclusive, engaging learning environments. His professional interests include instrumental rehearsal pedagogy, music teacher preparation, under-represented composers, and the role of community ensembles in lifelong music participation.
Dr. Marcho holds a Ph.D. in Music Education from The Ohio State University, a Master of Music in Conducting and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Maine.
