Civic Engagement Grant

This grant supports the examination and analysis of an initiative that addresses the community’s stated commitment to offering young people meaningful educational opportunities. This project will work to support adolescents’ educational pathways and expand the range of available educational and cultural opportunities. This initiative aims to enhance and extend the opportunities available to adolescents during their school day. Students will work directly with a professional teaching artist. The teaching artist will lead a 10-week residency during which students will be involved in writing, recording, and performing a song.  Students learn various technical elements of recording as well as beat and lyric writing skills.
