Electron Microscopy and Light Scattering Characterization of Microgels Under Dynamic Temperature Conditions

Project: Research

Grant Details

Description

Electron microscopy and dynamic light scattering will be used to investigate the thermodynamical volume phase transition of cross-linked amphiphilic polymer chains systems (microgel). The two experimental techniques are complementary as the first one provides information on individual particles, while the second one explores assembly dynamics. Understanding the temperature dependence of the size and shape of this particles provides valuable information for their deployment in drug delivery and biosensors.
