Description

This pedagogical grant was meant for the implementation of a high-impact practice in a gen ed course. I chose a collaborative practice, dividing my 70-person class into 14 groups of four or five. Together they researched and wrote a brief overview of a particular African city, then independently wrote a paper about one artwork from that city. Each group member had to read the other members' drafts and fill out a checksheet regarding their work.

The HIP group also met four times to discuss problems and successes, and explore questions of student responses.
