Southern Gentlemen

I continued photography and historical research for this television documentary project throughout the academic year. The work is currently funded by an FRD grant that this year was extended to a completion date of July 2012. During the first half of spring semester 2011, a graduate research assistant aided in locating a collection of letters and possible visual support for the project. I had intended to attach digital photographs to be used in the documentary to this FAAR, but find they need to be submitted on a CD instead. The photos on the disc were gathered for the most part in the 2009/2010 academic year and represent just a part of the total inventory. They are broken into separate files by rough categories. In addition to shooting other photos this year, I began the process of cataloging existing photos and deciding how to best process them for air, e.g., sepia wash, removing modern details in editing, etc. In addition to the disc, I am forwarding a supplemental memo concerning my creative and scholarly activities during the academic year, with special attention to the Southern Gentlemen television documentary project, to further illuminate the process.
