Abstract

This duet with electronic musician/composer Matthew Ryals was initially intended to be improvisational in nature. However, as the process unfolded and we came to terms with the traditional format of the concert, we began to create set structures. We individually created three distinct sections and then allowed for some variation of time within each section. This was an interesting collaboration in that the musician was an integral part of the space and there was an ongoing reciprocal relationship between his presence in terms of sound and space and my movement choices.
