Abstract

As professionals, in many instances, social workers face circumstances in which they have to overlook their own personal core values and embrace values that their profession promotes. Very often, they work with clients whose values and beliefs are different from theirs. In addition, they intervene along colleagues with whom they do not share personal values or beliefs. Despite those differences, they succeed in creating positive bonds with their clients and colleagues with whom they did not share values.
