Abstract

Having seen a biographical sketch activity that I did in my children's literature courses this term, and having spoken a great deal with Dr. Benjamin about how our undergraduates (especially) need to begin creating research projects, she and I decided to create a new final project for my children's literature courses which used biographical sketches as a foundation for further research. Having met and talked several times, we have piloted a research project this term (Spring, 2015), the results of which we intend to use as the basis for a first article, perhaps for The Reading Teacher, or the International Children's Literature Journal. I have attached the handouts from this prototype (which we will continue to develop over the summer).
