Abstract
This article examines the role of the digital public humanities in facilitating a new sense of global citizenship among the African public, especially among college students, and their counterparts in other parts of the world. More specifically, it examines the role of the two digital research projects, “Curating Kisumu” and “Curating East Africa,” in imbuing the MU and CSU students with a new sense of consciousness as members and citizens of the global community. It examines the possibilities and challenges of mobilizing digital public humanities to develop a new sense of global citizenship and consciousness around the world. It is based on a research project that History faculty and students at Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and Maseno University in Kisumu, Kenya, conducted from 2014 to 2018.
