Abstract
Having done the first pilot year of a longitudinal research study on CSU student writing, and having shared the findings with the middle childhood committee, it was my recommendation (and the committee's approval) to create a new course for the middle childhood program (that concentrated on writing as a communicative tool) for middle school educators. In the spring of 2013, Dr. Susan Rakow and I created the syllabus, the calendar and the "green" sheet for this course, which was sent to both Dr. Brian Yusko and the Undergraduate Affairs Committee for review (see attachment of syllabus for more information).
